Welcome to our bi-monthly CHIRPER post!

There are a few ways to interact with CHIRPER:

• Characters receive a notification to please fill out the form, which is fully optional. There is a character requirement of two characters per answer field. This is to discourage leaving the spaces blank.
• When forms are not filled out, they can be filled out by the companion bots of Etraya, or by other characters on behalf of their friends! This includes the Q&A section.
• Characters can either like ✅ or dislike ❌ others' CHIRPER profiles. These responses are public.
• This is voluntary on an OOC basis; if the character doesn't have a profile completed by themselves or anyone else, nothing shows up for them on CHIRPER.
• For those who do post a top level, profiles are worth 5 extra points regardless of if they are put up willingly by the character themselves. These 5 extra points do apply to the 25 maximum per month.

Magical beings with godlike strength, of which there are few. Each is warden of one element.

As for how, I suppose it is a matter of the soul. We know not how an Eikon chooses, only that they incline toward certain bloodlines. Yet they may select no one for generations.

Did you know there was a possibility you'd be chosen, or did it come as a surprise?

[oblige]

One is chosen from the onset, but it is not known until awakening to the power that comes of it. When that occurs varies widely.

In my case, I was an infant. I do not recall any time when I was not as I am.

Wow.

Do you... feel any separation between your forms? Are they equally comfortable?

[oblige]

I am as comfortable in one as the other, though I must be mindful of the drastic difference in size.

Eikonic forms are massive compared to the human body.

I've seen a similar transformation back home. Only it was an alien cat that became a fifteen metres tall humanoid beast.

Were you famous, as someone chosen? Are there many of you?

[oblige]

An alien cat? I have heard people here liken the Eikonic form to a "kaiju", if that holds any meaning to you.

Those chosen couldn't avoid being known, and I was raised to serve my nation, just as those before me. Historically, it is held that there is one Eikon for each element, so those like me are indeed few.

That makes sense.

What elements are they? I've learned not to make too many assumptions here.

It is wise not to assume, though I've found a curious degree of commonalities among our worlds as well.

Mine is light. The others are fire, ice, thunder, earth, wind, darkness, and water. The last had been absent for some time now.

Is the reason for the long absence known?

Have you met another chosen? Would that be a big deal?

[oblige]

Not to the general populace, but a friend learned of it and informed me.

We meet either as friends, or on the field of battle, in service of our nations. Others like me were brought here as well.

They were?

Thanks for indulging my curiosity. I hope it wasn't intrusive in any way.

Indeed. Some arrived before me and others after.

I do not mind questions at all. I could have declined to answer, if it were difficult to do so. In my world, such things are well-known, and I would rather not hide among those I am to work alongside.

I suppose there's little to fear when you're as much a dragon as a man.

I would say there is always something to fear, yet during some mission it might benefit others to know what I can do.

That's a generous way to approach our situation. Though I admit I'm unsure on what it means that you have the light element. Illumination? Lasers?

[oblige]

That would be a fair description, for both are true.

Typically light is an element that lends itself to healing, but my Eikon's power has necessarily been honed for combat. Thus my only learning to mend damage now that I can afford to.

Because... you're here? Were you at war?

[oblige]

I've served since I was fifteen. There have been a number of wars in that time, much of which concerned repelling invasion.

Those like myself have finite use of our power, for magic takes its toll. In this place I've found it does not tax me thus, and so I might explore avenues I couldn't afford to previous.
