As I am sure you have noticed, numerous individuals here are quite young.

[ Robin isn't referring to himself, but maybe he should be; he's outside, beside Accelerator whose frown matches the one on Robin's face. he doesn't speak up just yet, but leaves Robin to continue through: ]

Given the circumstances, it seems prudent to establish a safety net of sorts for those who may require it. Hawkeye had offered Bishop Publishing to 'capes', teens, and early twenties individuals; Accelerator and I are offering Ramsey Farm as a safe space for those who are fifteen years of age or younger. There will be one adult present, Willa Lisieux, and no others will be allowed on the premises.

This is meant to be a safe space for all of the youth who have found themselves here, regardless of their status.

[ Accelerator is chiming in here, for emphasis: ]

Yeah, it doesn't matter if you're a goddamn criminal or think you're a terrible person. This isn't just for 'good' people, or heroes, or whatever. We don't give a shit.

[ Robin tips his head back toward Accelerator, frown still present, but offers no follow up to that. Not yet. Instead, he follows up with a: ]

Do not hesitate to stop by.

What's the point of a farm if all our food is already provided for us?

[COMPLETELY irrelevant, thanks Amy.]

Fair point. Seems a lot of effort to go to for a "better safe than sorry" circumstance but it's also not like we have anyone capable of providing food any other way.

If we were cut off, would the farm become available for everyone?

[It's not uncommon for villains to create a means of providing for their community and then horde it in exchange for fealty. So she's just making... sure...]

[Replace children with 'goblins' or 'large dogs' and she could say she's seen it happen.]

Well, at least you're honest about it.

[She's a little amused. He talks like a tiny Armsmaster.]

Good to know that someone's prepared at least.

I'm not actually interested in encroaching on your turf. In case that wasn't clear.

[Being around so many rugrats sounds like a personal hell to her. She never did care for kids. They're too small. They don't know how good they've got it.]

Okay. Thanks.

[She's not sure she's interested enough to follow up and interrogate some poor woman about her life choices.

She hesitates, her mind immediately going to Victoria's vague statements about whatever she's done in the future.]

If something goes really wrong (in terms of like, bad injuries or illness) feel free to message me. My power lets me heal people quickly and painlessly, including things like severed limbs or organ failure. I don't imagine it will because everyone else here is perfectly capable of getting themselves mangled regardless of age, but I figured I'd offer just in case.

[Mostly as a moral responsibility.]

Some people like living on farms for some fucking reason.

[Not him, he is not a country person.]

[personal profile] ontologically 2024-06-22 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Weird.

[She stayed at a few of the country clubs but never on a farm. Sounds like... poor people??? (She is not self aware enough to understand that this is the thought she's having.)]

I guess if you like animals and the farm has animals that could probably be nice. In theory.
levelshift: (sigh)

[personal profile] levelshift 2024-06-22 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I'm sure there's something to be said for living out in nature, too. I'm betting it's psychologically better for a person's wellbeing to be out in nature around animals, or some shit.

[He doesn't know, he isn't good with either and has never really had the option of "live on a farm" before.]

Or maybe just to be away from people.

[That's something she can see the appeal in, as a misanthropic loner who was overwhelmed and buried by an endless sea of needy and desperate people she was honorbound to help.]
levelshift: (who exactly are 'they'?)

[personal profile] levelshift 2024-06-26 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah.

[That's something that resonates with him deeply. People suck, it's hard being around them. He'd honestly rather just be napping all day, except there's the whole I need to be responsible thing that's outweighing that desire.]

The farm is close enough that it isn't a daunting walk for a younger kid, but far enough away from other buildings that they don't have to worry about constantly running into people.
