How many of you are unfamiliar with modern technology?

I haven't failed to notice that there's a substantial population who are either from universes or time periods that don't have objects like motor vehicles. I wonder if this mission is meant to be an added challenge.

Transponder snails. They're animals, very common in my world.

I've seen similar creatures here, but they're very tiny and fragile and don't seem to have the same ability.

Something about radio frequencies? They can communicate with each other, so if you speak to one, a different one far away will hear it and repeat it.

The small ones are about as big as the local snails, but they have more personality. The big ones are about as big as a small dog.

Campanile giganteum was about that large

I find most gastropods are rather laid back in nature.

There's three words in there I don't know at all, but I assume they all mean snails. There were snails that big, most snails are laid back?

Campanile giganteum is a species of ancient snail. They're extinct.

They do tend to be. Obviously, there are exceptions.

Laid-back is the word for the ones I've seen, but I don't keep one.
