If you were given an egg and don't intend to care for it, I'm willing to nurse it in your stead. My nest is large enough to incubate several.

( ooc: i will be handwaving all physical exchanges for convenience's sake.

please note: eggs that are given away will not hatch, so this is really just a relatively "guilt-free" way for a character to get rid of an egg if they don't plan to participate. )

More like that of a reptile, really. Though I've supplemented it with some electric heating elements.

They've got electric heating gadgets suitable for that around here?

They had blankets that can be plugged into and outlet and produce heat. If I cover the nest with one, it helps to maintain temperature.

Well now, that beats the trick I was using. I'll have a look around for one of these blankets.

There's no better use for my skills for the time being. I might as well give them an opportunity to thrive if it matters so little to you.

Oh, I intend to see this through, my curiosity demands no less. It is not fueled by the mawkishness of a bleeding heart, is all.

The "secret" is to keep them warm, but not so warm that you would cook them. Around 99 degrees Fahrenheit or 37 Celsius. If they're treated roughly, or left too cold for too long, they'll simply die.

It is, pursuing knowledge is far more worthy an endeavor than trying to satisfy the misguided sense of fulfillment that charity has to offer.

What do you plan to do when all of yours hatch?

Because it's the right thing to do.
