Oh. Yeah, I guess that might not make sense if we're not from the same world. On my Earth, superhero identities are a Big Deal. There's a constitutional amendment saying they don't have to disclose their real names in court and everything.

So when you acted like you knew who the Wayne family were, I thought you were Traci Thirteen or some other hero.

You mean the Wayne family has close dealings with the secret heroes of your world?

No? Sorry if that's disappointing, but it's a weird question. It's impossible to not know about superheroes unless you live under a rock or moved to an off-the-grid yurt in the 80s. They make the news all the time. Every bodega sells knockoff merch. They're just there.

Oh! I see what I didn't spell out now. You knew who my family were, so I thought you were from the same world, and you said you had a team here that you weren't worried about. So I thought: superhero.

Well, I am a hero. Or, at least, I'm studying at a school for heroes. But heroes in my world don't function the way heroes in your world seem to.
There's no reason for adventurers to hide their identities. (Unless maybe they're a rogue or something.)
And most adventurers aren't celebrities who get merch sold of them. Only some of the biggest names, like I wouldn't be surprised if someone made Karl Cleaver merch.
My friend Fig has merch, but that's because she's a rock star, not because she's an adventurer.

They have a school for that? Woah. That’s got to be amazing. My high school just had normal classes like geometry and French.

One of your heroes is named Karl Cleaver? Does he use a cleaver? That’s kinda intense for a superhero.

Okay. You’re a hero in training, and you hang out with rockstars. Seriously cool.

I have to learn geometry, too, but it's mostly arcane geometry, used in teleportation circles and other complex sigils like that.

I'm not sure what Karl Cleaver's preferred weapon is. I know his daughter who was a few years above me in school uses a great axe.

[ She's not sure how to respond to the last part of that comment... She doesn't think of herself as "cool," per se. Not when she hangs around with people like Fig and Fabian. Honestly? It just feels too cringe to acknowledge that bit at all, so she's going to gloss over it. ]

If you think I wouldn't have already Plane Shifted myself and my friends home if I could... That spell is too high level for me.

But, that said, I have doubts it would work, regardless. I do have access to a spell which allows you to send a message to anyone, anywhere, on any plane, and it can't seem to reach anyone back in Spyre or elsewhere.

Whoever is behind this planar binding, they seem to have closed all exits tight.

I'll keep trying. There's got to be a way out of here. I refuse to believe there isn't.

Thanks, Tim. I know that ostensibly we're in competition with each other, but I do think it's best if we at least share resources.
