[The easiest introduction in the world! Being that it's a, uh, re-introduction. Peter Parker Spider-Man has already confirmed he'd vanished for months — which is totally crazy, because he feels like he hasn't been gone all that long — but here he is! In all of his 'confused but has spirit' energy that had gotten him through his time in Etraya before.]
Hey guys, I'm back!
Just gone long enough to apply to, like, fifty barista and pizza guy jobs back home.
... Swinging around doesn't pay rent, y'know.
What'd I miss?
[He's perched on his tippy-toes, on top of one of the tallest buildings in Etraya.
As you do.]

( was it bad that her most normal conversation since her arrival here was with this super hero of all people? discussing super hero names of all things?
regardless of her mockery, she did seem lighthearted and cheerful about the whole thing. )
There's seriously someone here named 'Squirrel Girl'?
( well that's one person she's going to have to seek out. )
Is that what happened to you? That's one....interesting origin story.

[It at least suits her, considering... well. Just look at her.
If anyone's gonna be called that in seriousness, it's her.]
But yeah, pretty much. One day I was a puny kid with asthma, the next I'm getting powers from a spider. It's crazy how one school trip totally turns your life upside down, huh?
[Peter's not exactly doing great back home, and maybe that's thanks to that stupid spider making life a million times trickier, but... it is what it is. It's what May never regretted, even 'til the end, and Peter can't possibly betray her memory by doubting it now.]

( there isn't much heather can do or show given the nature of their communication, but she's standing as she records the next message and appeared to be intrigued by his words.
somewhere in the back of her mind, she can't help but think he was more than willing to share his secrets, perhaps to his determent. then again....she had done a poor job at keeping all of her cards to her chest. )
But you have a real name right? Before the incident? And your parents...I don't know didn't sue the school for that?
no subject
Of course I've got a real name. Secret identities are important for some heroes...
I'm still kind of deciding whether it's something I should give up on here, though.
[He's not gonna pretend he was always the best at keeping things under wraps, but it's like. Weird. To just... be that other part of yourself out loud. Especially after what happened once his name was out there.]
I got my identity revealed back home by a pretty awful person.
It kinda ruined my life for a little while.

which her father had definitely gone after in court, legally changing her name and all that to further escape them. of course she would immediately think of that as a solution or a band aid to his problems! )
Oh...I see. I'm sorry that happened to you, and listen..
( and now here's where she's actually feeling pretty bad about her approach with him. with an apologetic expression, she crossed her arms and spoke in a more gentle voice. )
You don't have to tell me who you really are, frankly that's for you to keep. What I want you to know is that you're not alone here. If you want to talk to someone about that, even just your feelings, I'm here for you. I know we just met, but it's kinda something I'm doing for everyone.
no subject
Both of them somehow know this in entirely different, insane ways.
But Peter knows none of this when he smiles behind the mask in appreciation.]
Yeah?
[Times like these, he really misses MJ and Ned.]
... Only if I can be someone you talk to stuff about, too.
Us universe captives gotta stick together, don't we? [And frankly, it'd be nice to have more friends around here. Maybe he could even start collecting more friends as Peter Parker. Wouldn't that be something?] And that includes any time you're about to be eaten by monsters or anything like that! I'm pretty good at getting across town to kick some butt.

so despite making fun of him a bit, she could see he was serious about being a good super hero. )
Deal, but I don't really need saving. I'm pretty tough myself you know?
( so maybe she didn't prevent the birth of god, and was pulled right when it happened. but she could handle herself just fine in that department-
not that she was going to make him worry. )
I suppose I'll keep you mind if the need arises. Welcome back, by the way.

[He's known a lot of crazy-awesome heroes who needed a hand. Especially against something just as tough as you, if not tougher.]
And thanks. I'd say 'welcome' to you in general, but... I'm gonna guess everyone else beat me to it.
Still. It's nice to meet you — Mason?

( she's not foolish enough to completely reject his offer-
after all, she had failed [as of now] on something very important. if she had help...well she wouldn't be here wondering if her world was actually doomed or not. )
And it's Heather, Heather Mason. I just use my last name because it means a lot to me...
( another member of the dead parents club. )

[Said genuinely. He's the last Parker, and maybe someday he can pass it on.
(Man, that's crazy, though.)]
I'm Spider-Man, but you can call me Spidey if you want.
... Or, you know. Maybe someday soon you'll know my actual name. Work in progress.

( she had her own array of secrets and questionable encounters, so she wasn't going to pressure him for anything more than he wanted to share.
as she wrapped up the conversation, there was one last thing she wanted to comment on. )
By the way, hope you're able to settle back in. When you originally left...do you remember that at all? How that happened?
no subject
Didn't remember a single thing about Etraya until I returned.
It was pretty freaky, though -- like, I woke up, and I just knew why I was here, and who had been here last time I'd been around. Everything as clear as the day I'd vanished. Definitely... some missing faces. But plenty of new ones, too.

( well his answer at the very least filled in a few blanks and questions she had about the mechanics of it all. it seemed so far that if she were to go back home [apparently echo was kind enough to do that], then it wasn't guaranteed that she would be allowed to remain there. which might also mean he didn't know how much time had passed. )
Well I have more questions about all of this, but I won't hold you up. I'm sure you have things you want to get back to. Thanks again for answering.
no subject
If you ever need to ask anything else, or you need help, you can always give me a call.
... I have a totally crazy amount of free time when we're not on missions around here.
[Compared to home, anyway. As one can imagine.]

( speaking of, mr. cheese is immediately running up her arm and getting up close to the screen blocking her view. )
But I'll make sure to keep you in mind for things.
