I wouldn't trust someone who claimed to be altruistic with anything because people lie.

I simply fail to see what benefit someone would get out of pretending to be altruistic to help another person with their arm. If they have the skill and they use it to help you, you've still been helped. All they can expect in return at that point is a favour, which I'd want to give to anyone who helped me, regardless.
