Not with a working one. The busted one is useless as it is.

And anyway, the altruistic ones are obvious. They wouldn't claim to be altruistic, they'd just be happy to help.

I simply fail to see what benefit someone would get out of pretending to be altruistic to help another person with their arm. If they have the skill and they use it to help you, you've still been helped. All they can expect in return at that point is a favour, which I'd want to give to anyone who helped me, regardless.

The "happy to help" type are also more liable to volunteer foolishly. Which as you said, it is broken, but I assume you know as well as I do that there is a difference between broken and irreparably damaged.

Regardless, that person seems to think honesty and holding hands will solve all of society's ills. I'm getting the sense that you would know better.

I would know better, and "it is not likely" is not even in the top ten of most reassuring things you could be telling me.

I had the sense that you would, but be warned: you're not going to be able to avoid children. They're everywhere.

I don't mind children, they tend to be easier to deal with than adults. More direct.

But if a twelve year old is a master mechanic I will be commenting on the fact they're twelve and they will get annoyed. It's only fair to warn them.

Which at the very least, if you meet a twelve-year-old master mechanic, they are putting that energy to good use. Perhaps they should accept that they will be commented on it.
