Ah, hello everyone! I'm Vash, one of the new arrivals. It's nice to meet everyone :)

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but has anyone actually met Echo or gotten a chance to speak with them? Because I was thinking, there's so many of us from so many different places, and between all of us I'm sure there's a solution Echo hasn't found where nobody needs to lose a universe, right? Echo's just one person, after all--there must be some angles to this situation they haven't even considered yet, and if enough of us approached them at once, maybe they'd hear us out.

Yes? I don't know anyone of "normal" ability levels who is able to kidnap people on this scale and prevent any of them from leaving, even if they would normally have the power to do so.

Ahaha I mean...this scale is already a bit wider than I'm used to! I've lived in space before, but different universes is pretty new to me.

Usually kidnappings are just done personally...??

Typically, yes. The one time I've been kidnapped, my captors came to fetch me themselves.

The fact that we were *all *taken, *remotely*, without any knowledge of the attempt while it was happening... It hints at a staggering level of power.

I don't sleep, I trance. And I would like to think that I'd have the sense to wake up from my trance if someone was casting a spell on me.

you...trance? what does that mean?
you don't need to sleep at all??

It's an elf thing. Elves don't sleep like humans and other species do, we do something that's more like a deep meditation. It's mostly the same as sleep, only we don't need as much of it to be fully rested. Only about four hours a night.

[Huh. Vash doesn't know what an elf is because there was only so much Earth media he was able to consume in the single year he lived on the ship with Rem, but the details don't really matter. She's not human, and apparently among multiple nonhuman species where she comes from. Vash can't even really imagine what that must be like.

And you're aware of everything going on around you during this trance? That sounds convenient!!

Well... Not perfectly aware. I could still be snuck up on. However, I would think that magic as powerful as this spell which has planeshifted us all here, throughout time and space, would be noticeable enough that I would wake from my trance, were someone to cast it on me.

It must have been a very sneaky spell, then! Or technology, maybe.....

[Nevermind that anything remotely that advanced has been lost for a hundred and fifty years where he's from.]

Maybe... Although, where I'm from, most technology is still magic-based in some capacity. I'm really not used to the overwhelming lack of arcanotech here.

Haha, is that so? Magic isn't actually real where I come from, honestly. It just appears in fantasy stories and such. It's pretty neat to know it actually exists!

[He has no idea what to make of it, honestly. But it's one of those things he intends to put up on a mental shelf to deal with later.]

It's not real at all? As a wizard, that feels hard for me to understand. But... I suppose it lends credence to the distinct lack of magic in this place.

Maybe my world is somehow unique for the presence of magic.

Honestly, I'm still a little new to the idea of different worlds in the first place. I've lived in outer space before, but I thought everything was in one universe!

Really, outer space? That's pretty cool.
I've been to a few other planes, like the astral plane and hell, but other than that, I've never been anywhere but the prime material plane of Spyre.

It was pretty beautiful, in its own way.

I've heard of hell, at least in old religious books, but I'm not really sure what a prime material plane is. Again, we only had the one dimension! Hahaha.

The prime material plane is I guess what you would call "the real world." It's where most mortal beings live. All the other planes exist over or around the prime material plane.
