That'd kind of be any of us trained in combat, especially if we've had to kill before.
I don't know, is there any possibility of people opting into trackers? Mutually, so we can try to have an electronic system to check and verify who's real, who isn't, or what isn't what it seems?
It could be a good way to counter whatever hallucinations that might happen. The paranoia and delusions may affect how we perceive the tracking so perhaps there should be safeguards on top of that
We can leave the uh... okay so I'm usually the one getting tracked, but the control for it? In Aurora's care. Then if we have ways to see it but not directly touch it, we can at least know that much is "true." And the animals are going to be protected elsewhere. So the only things "really" moving should be us, or the hallucinations, right?
So we've been told, yes. If Aurora can't stop this mission then perhaps she can aid in other ways. We would still be involved with the mission. It's just that we need preparation.
Missions are about us working together and helping each other too. I'm ignoring the part about competing, because it's not helpful.
So we're still doing the mission by helping each other. Even ahead of time.
I'm not exactly the tech person to figure out, I don't know, maybe trackers we can put on our earpieces? But maybe someone here is. Or maybe Aurora can help supply those, and the central console is hers. Then we can access the map and see all our little dots?
It's not a bad plan. It's also possible our earpieces already can track us and we just haven't been made aware. Maybe Aurora could give us temporary and limited view of those.
I'd assume they do to be honest, but also we might just have trackers we don't know about. Kind of explains the resurrection stuff if that's the case. Also how we're not all sick all the time with colds or diseases anywhere we visit. Or brought with us.
Framing it as we're already trying to do teamwork and that's supposed be one of our objectives could help. Based on what we've been told and haven't been told, it's still within the rules
Checked in with her, and she could help make similar tech, but not in less than a week. Her best bet was saying someone who already has that tech share.
Which is great and all, buuut it seems that the kind of people already operating on that level of paranoia are prooobably pretty insular. So. Next mission, then.
I guess I could be more technical: so I told him it was a tear, I remembered Aurora used a different word. A vent?
He said he'll be moving fast once he's in here, and I did tell Aurora I'm inviting him, so she knows. But if we're fixing a vent, which is slightly better than a tear because it's meant to be closed, can we get a head start on figuring out what controls those settings?
Ideally, yes but we still don't have enough information to take action. Also, we have no way of verifying if what he's saying is true. The same goes for Aurora and Echo.
And I'm going to keep pointing out it goes the other way too, we have no way to verify it as false. Same for Aurora and Echo. Choosing not to believe is as much a choice as choosing to believe, and frankly, if I need to gear up for figuring out how to save all the universes we can, while ignoring the whole stupid "play to win" concept Echo's tossing out? Then I want to do that now. Not keep thinking it'll be okay, that it can't be happening, only to find out it has.
True. At this point, every option we have has its risks. It's more of a matter of which one we want to take. Worth nothing that as far as accessible records can tell, Scylla has never appeared before.
I wrote his name wrong at first and then Aurora was able to correct it for me. So... there's a chance she does know him. Or of him. Or just has a better read on the naming conventions, because I just learned these are all Greek?
Me either, unfortunately. Not sure it means much other than Echo being a fan... of an Earth language. Or are we getting translations that all end up approximate?
If Echo ends up being from an Earth I'm going to be so irritated at the lack of even one hello.
There does seem to be a number of us who come from some version of Earth. Particularly noticeable when compared to the other worlds other Etraya residents come from.
Yeah, that's what I've been seeing too. Not as many who are all from one same Earth either? Which is interesting. Are most here from sometime before the 2020s? I haven't met anyone else from the lat 2040s so far. More from earlier.
