Before we all head into the labyrinth, I figure we should have a level playing field for making calls about risk.

If you die here, apparently you don't stay dead. You're down for two days or so, then you resurrect wherever your body happens to be. So it's probably a nice gesture, if you see a corpse in the maze, to drag them somewhere not totally inconvenient to wake up.

The temporarily dead also come back fully healed of injuries, but the penalty is some kind of personal loss. Think scars, tattoos, a digit, possibly more intangible qualities, etc. I have no idea what the rules are on that, so if anyone has any useful speculation, consider the floor open.

In fact, if anyone is familiar with this kind of thing back in your universes, you're invited to share with the class. The more we know about resurrection in general, maybe the more we can figure out about how it works here. Bonus marks if you have first hand experience.

The only unusual thing I've picked up is that this place is startlingly unmagical. And yet, there are measures in place to prevent or interfere with the magic that I can cast, as though certain spells are somehow abjured or otherwise countered.

Not to give unsolicited professional advice, but if I were in your shoes, I might predict that the visions will be rapidly drying up if I don't start foreseeing some cheques clearing.

I heard something similar from someone else. But if they're keeping you from casting specific spells, but you can still access others, I'd think that implies some familiarity with the mechanics and the ability to manipulate them. Not exactly a skill I associate with computers.

No. Whoever or whatever is behind this place (Echo, maybe?) is certainly familiar enough with magic to prevent me from sending messages to other planes. Which hints at some kind of study or ability in the arcane arts.

And I guess that's another thing we can add to the list of unnerving possibilities. Archwizard tech genius alien that may or may not exist.

Or: another dead end. There's a striking oversupply of those. Still, it's worth knowing where they are.

As far as high elves are concerned, the only "little people" are non-high elves.
