Assuming the Fae of Auriel share the same aversion to iron as those of the Feywild from where I am from, I am offering to craft temporary weapons and tools from non-iron materials for anyone preparing for the mission. My trade lies in metalwork, with modest skill in wood and leather. Brass, bronze, bone, horn, or seasoned wood are all suitable.

Time before departure is limited, so I can only take a few commissions.

Separately, I am pursuing a personal project involving spell storage and glyphcraft. If anyone has experience in such work, I would appreciate a private exchange of ideas.

That speaks of ill-discipline.

If you must rely upon the pressure of time for results, how can anyone trust in your skill of craft? A true craftsman does not wait for an ambiguous threat to loom over them to spark their flame of creation.

I judge it by discipline, quality, and ability. One can kill another with a stone, this does not speak of its quality of craft, simply that the one utilizing it has proper aim.

If it is tradition that you wait till pressure is at its greatest and time is slipping through your fingers like sand, that speaks of your own inability to dedicate properly to your craft, to properly planning ahead. This opens one up to make more mistakes as they cling to adrenaline to serve as a crutch for what they otherwise lack in principles.

Have you a forge? I should like to see your craft myself to fully judge you of your mettle. That is, of course, if you are not simply talk.

[Unfortunately he's just like this. Judgmental over other artisans and creators. It's hard not to be when he comes from a people whose entire culture revolves around creation magic and their concepts, and one of his closest... friends is the Chief of the Bureau of the Architect.]

So your argument is that we should construct buildings with twigs instead of aught better because it will eventually collapse one day anyway?

No sense, no discipline, and no forge. I cannot say this is looking good for you.

More prattle, but I will grant you that engaging in verbal fisticuffs proves neither of our points. I will observe, see the proof put to the test, but do not be mistaken: there is naught you could ever teach me.

I can’t help you with sense and discipline, but we’ve got the finest forge up in Stonhyrr. Without its forgemaster, it’s been cold for months, but that also means no one will put up a fuss if you use it. You’ll have to bring your own fire tender, though.

I wouldn’t mind the other fellow so much. It’s often in our direst days that we’re pressed to figure out what we need at all.

It is one thing to act under imposed duress, quite another to oft wait for it in order to act. However, if you are willing to spare your forge, then, as I said, I am willing to see just what this braggart can do.

Sounds to me like he just needs the inspiration. Plenty of craftsmen have wandering imaginations. Flights of fancy and the like.

Good, all yours.

A word of warning though. Are you a quick on your feet?

Good. Stonhyrr’s got a guard. She’s not likely to talk, but you can run. If you see a dark haired bloke though, he might talk, but that’s not much more likely.

Tell him you’re a friend of Cid’s if you see him.
