[If anyone hasnāt seen Jayce within the past few months, he looks quite a bit different. His hair is longer, he has a beard, and doesnāt seem quite as full of energy as he might have in the past. Heās also not dressing as uptight as he used toā a lack of vest and tie, exchanged for just a simple button up shirt. The background is once again S.T.A.R. labs, although heās not trying to hide it this time.]
Hey, Etrayans. For those new to this whole thing, welcome. Iām Jayce Talis. For those who came from Pollux, also welcome. I can say with full confidence Auroraās better at this than Castor is.
[Aurora probably wonāt appreciate that comment, but whatever. He stands by it. But that asideā¦]
Iām putting out a call for fellow scientists to come together and work collaboratively on research involving what we know about Etraya, and more importantly, what we donāt know. This could also include strategizing developments to improve our lives here, and solving problems with our understanding in our respective fields. āØ
Something that we have here that we lack in our own worlds is the variety of perspectives. In my world, some of our greatest achievements are beyond whatās possible in other worlds, but we donāt have plastics or microwaves. Think of this as an opportunity for all of us to better ourselves, in this⦠transient existence weāre all stuck in.
Meetings would be here, in S.T.A.R. labs, every Thursday morning. No requirements if you want to participate other than an open mind, and a good attitude. No shooting down suggestions without hearing things out, and if you happen to have some sort of grudge against any of the participants here, you leave it at the door when you come in, or youāre not coming in.
[OOC: Feel free to threadjack around if you'd like!]

I'm interested.
And I'm pretty sure another of my teammates would be, too.
[ Yes, Tim. She's throwing you under the bus with her already.
Welcome
h o m eto Etraya. Hope you don'tdiedisappear anytime soon. ]no subject
[Ahem...]
Sure. Do you have a background in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics?
no subject
If anything, it rolls off her back without much reaction,
because she's too busy starting to smirk at his next question. ]
Yes.
no subject
Great. Just keep in mind the very barebone rules we have, and I'll see you on Thursday.
no subject
Sounds good. See you then.
[ Now to spread the news. ]

Teammate? What sort of work do you back home?
no subject
That depends on the current situation's needs.
[ Okay. That's a little too directly-circumspect for even her. ]
Generally? Keeping people safe.
Taking care of it when they aren't.

An inordinate amount; if you're doing the math.

Especially when the deck is being stacked with handpicking.
[ No one will ever convince her the people chosenāgood to badāare random.
But she can flip the script back just as easily. This is a first meeting after all. ]
What about you? What do you do?
When you aren't being multiverse kidnapped.
no subject
[The answer comes out so easily. Technically, it's not a lie either]
no subject
It's not the full truth, maybe not even the truth as he sees it,
but it is a truth, and an answer, to the question that she asked. ]
It'll be interesting to see who all decides they're inclined.
[ Maybe near to as interesting as whether this accomplishes anything. ]

[A double-edged sword though as some personalities might just clash as well]
no subject
Potentials for compromises and expansions in realms no one's considered yet.
[ A beat. ]
Do you dabble in others fields, or stick to your primary?

Oh, I am definitely a dabbler.
What I use depends on my circumstances, but I also love to learn new things.
[ Especially given she'll forget even the smallest iota of anything she learns, and will find applications for it later, if she doesn't need them at the current time. Plus, it definitely helps her meticulously track what she gives up and what she doesn't under each of her three guises. ]

[AKA Is she multi-skilled like him and apparently all the other Bats here]

She knows. She's surprised, as well.
Maybe it earns him one point. Half of one.
Or at least a vague, but true, answer. ]
Before coming here, I was studying up on aerospace engineering,
while researching the history of NASA's SCaN, TDRS, and LCRD Systems.
[ It's not every day the JLA asks you to build and program the communication system of their brand new space station. ]

[It's genuine curiosity and wanting more Bat intel]

Nothing all that exciting here,
given our friendly dome up there.
[ She's owned companies and has more than a handful of patents.
None of those had to do with space, but neither did she until she was asked to.
(Well. Aside from stealing all of Luther's satellites.
But that's neither here nor there.) ]
I like looking at how things connect. Where and how the breakthroughs happened, whether by mistake or strategic epiphany, and love to work on how current hiccups might be smoothed out, or processes that haven't been updated in five to ten years can be finessed into the present or rebuilt entirely with a more future-use and upgrading table built in.

[And great for vigilante detective work]
Looking at the minute details helps with the bigger picture.

Yes. I find the best teams need both;
the forest for the trees and the whole scale forest itself.
