hello, fellow unwilling etrayans. this is sophie cuckoo.
two things to address today. the first one is regarding NYX. if you don't know what the fuck im talking about, in charronway there's a massive building with grafitti all over and the entrance says 'all welcome'. it's our community center here in etraya, we offer homemade meals for lunch and dinner, community support and classes given by our fellow kidnapped, and a space for gatherings if you want to use it as such.
i am once more opening roles for cooks, and if you want to teach something to the community or if there's something you'd like to learn, let me know and i'll fix it in the schedule. in the mornings, you'll talk to chrissy and for our collective psychological well-being, never ever address me before 12pm, but i'm available there after that time and chrissy will tell me if you need anything prior to my soul returning to my body. i also know some of you got powers on earth, so if you need some testing grounds or help, that can be arranged too, although i want to make it clear i am a not a good teacher. you choose this at your own risk.
now that that's out of the way. part two, people. tell me what you are up to, give me your problems to solve, you guys know the drill. last time you all had such interesting insights and some of you are in dire need of therapy, but well. let's go.
i got some time to kill.

Private to Sophie:
Hypothetically speaking, your abilities would give you insight into people's intentions, non?
no subject
also, what a great idea! thank you, i didn't even consider that! i'll put it into practice as soon as possible, and here i was, thinking i was giving out the advices. (affectionate)
(Ugh, she's not going to be switching back and forth, don't give her extra work. At least Clea is used to the telepathic phone.)
/... Oh? I mean, yeah. Obviously. What's up?/
no subject
[ Clea needs to create a Canvas soon. She's spending too much time asleep. What a waste of hours. ]
/...I'd rather use writing./
[ The reason is apparent as Clea emits a sense of discomfort and embarrassment...up until it's replaced with a sense of sharp physical pain. Namely, Clea having cut herself with a carving tool to avoid letting Sophie know she has unpleasant feelings. ]
private from here on out
then im totally ignoring your yapping about my lifestyle. you can only choose one text method.
go.

[ Sophie is too self-assured to take Clea's admonitions seriously. ]
For what reasons would a man express desire and not follow through?
mildly nsfw???
Still mildly nsfw

We spoke before, but I did not introduce myself at the time. My name is Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd, and it is a pleasure to see you appear again on the network.
If you need any volunteers helping around the community center I would be more than happy to lend aid. I have yet to meet someone who rivals my strength, although I am certain there must be a several here in Etraya, but if you need any heavy lifting done I am more than willing to help.
[Dimitri hopes the help is needed, he doesn't do well when he isn't making him self useful as well as staying 10ft ahead of his thoughts and ghosts.]
no subject
wait. it's you, isn't it? how did that turn out? you gotta keep the gossip flowing, man.
on more serious news, i'd love to have you around. the point of this whole thing is so that we can create a sense of, well, neighborhood, and not my world vs your world or whatever it is that might come from the whole bullshit arbitrary decision-making echo and aurora do. so, i'd have you on a schedule if you're willing.
some questions, though. what do you mean strength, what are your skills/things you enjoy doing (pick 5), and how many times a week are you able to come and at what time?
no subject
Yes, it's me again. It's going pretty good right now, although in the beginning I made a bit of an ass out of myself. I was being too demanding without listening, but I was fortunately bucked into the Lazy River then. I apologized afterwards and we talked through it. ...Then we were assigned as husbands on the last mission.
I think this is an excellent idea. It could be an excellent resource for new arrivals, or perhaps a safe space for people who are in need.
I mean physical strength. As an example, when I was a child I would train by running up a mountain in a full suit of armor carrying several buckets of rocks. Conversely I also was trained to swim in a full suit of armor as well. I am excellent at doing heavy lifting and demolition if needed.
[Dimitri takes a bit of time to respond. It's difficult for him to think of things he is good at, worse still to think of things he enjoys doing.]
Skills:
[
warkilling peoplecrushing an enemy's skull will my bare handinsomniaprotecting the weak?slaying those who would pray on the weakslaying monstersrevengeresearchinvestigation]1) Fighting with a lance
2) Fighting with a sword
3) Fighting while dancing with a sword
4) Fighting astride a horse (currently teaching myself how to do so atop a chocobo)
5) Good at following directions
I have taught war orphans basic swordsmanship before, but I cannot say whether I was good at it. My professor also helped in teaching them. Also, my schedule is very open at present; I have no prior commitments.
Oh, I do have some things I would like to request to not do. I really am no good at cooking, so please keep me out of the kitchen unless it is for cleaning duties. I am also not very good at delicate work, my strength is not a boon here and I have broken many a needle trying to learn cloth mending.
no subject
listening is a skill. i'm also shit at it. guess it's a muscle?
yeah. that's what i want.
okay, so you'll be besties with maelle. cool. so, you'll help her classes, if she needs you, and vice-versa. you'll teach too, i'll let her know, since she's coming to see me tomorrow. you can come see me today, i'm up. somehow.
that's what chrissy does, too. deals with kitchen stuff. i'd burn cereal. cleaning duties is also nice.
okay. hired.
no subject
Are you sure you are not skilled in listening? This is the second network posting I've seen you make where most of what you do is listen.
I am acquainted with Maelle, but I look forward to helping out.
Where are you to be that we may meet up? Is there anything I should bring?
no subject
oh, good point. this is texting, and has nothing to do with me. everyone i called out for idiocy agreed, too, so i guess it wasn't that bad.
cool. great.
you come to nyx, if i'm not in the chair, i'm in the office, or i'm running inventory. no need to bring anything, but look nice, or else i literally can't pay attention.

For teaching, I don't know that any weapons training is really useful, and the only other thought I had was surfing but... do we even get waves out in the bay?
no subject
we have that gigantic water park, but other than that, nope? but i think cooking is just what we need. chrissy is on cooking duty as well.
no subject
Great, I'll reach out to her to see if she's got ideas on what kind of menus she's wanting to run. She'd probably know scaling too, right?
no subject
... sure. probably. i'd burn cereal, so you'd have to ask these things to her directly. i just show up in the kitchen for ingredient logistics.
no subject
Ingredient logistics is one of the most important parts! It's how you know when you need to get creative or change up your plans for cooking. Are we making any drinks too, or sticking to foods? Not talking alcohol, more like... there's a couple of fruit drinks I can make that can be pretty decent when we can get the fresh fruit for them.
no subject
i mean, i don't know how to do that myself, you guys tell me, i make it work. you can make them if you'd like? any left overs are given away, stored, or taken home by us, so i think it's fine.
