You know, I always wanted to see what the inside of a Wards headquarters looked like. The versions in TV shows never seemed that accurate.

There's nothing wrong with board games. They can be equally as entertaining as electronics.

Senet, an ancient Egyptian game, or even the Roman game Latrones. Both require a keen mind for strategy.

It's quite interesting and exciting to see how your opponent will combat your moves and vice versa.

There are board games and board games. The ones I was talking about aren't so much about strategy as they are about psychological warfare. Not the fun kind of psychological warfare, either. The boring type.

But you're right. I'll concede that. Some games played on boards are better than others.

I play Go and chess. I think they're in the same line as the games you were talking about. If we ever end up with an afternoon to kill, maybe we could organize a board game night that doesn't suck.

The exhilarating fun of playing a game where the outcome is fixed as soon as the deck is shuffled.

Will do. I've never heard of it, but I'm guessing...farming simulator?

No, seriously. Candyland has a fixed outcome every time. The winner is determined by the order of the cards being drawn. You can't do anything to change progression across the board after the game starts. It's just taking turns until someone reaches the end.

So much for my turnip rearing dreams. How does it compare to Doom?

Now I want to play Candyland.

It's been ages since I played it. It's a console game, so no mods or piping in your own tunes. I guess that means Doom wins.

Doom generally does. Still. It sounds interesting.

This may be getting ahead of myself, but I wonder if there's a way to tie consoles into the network. If more of them show up, maybe we could get some online multiplayer going.

The only way to do that would be rigging the deck. Which I don't have any ethical objections to, but you are aware is cheating, right?

I haven't so far. One of several conspicuously missing amenities. Not that I'm complaining about the free portable platforms we've got, but it'd be nice to have a desktop.
